Laura's Workshop 9.27.08

Here are the 3 cards that we did as make-n-takes for Laura's party. There were just 6 of us total, a nice size group for making these kinds of cards.

Card 1 Recipe:
4 1/4" x 5 1/2" whisper white cardstock
3" x 4" tangerine tango cardstock
textured scallop punch in kiwi kiss
Pocket Shilouettes set
Tangerine tango & kiwi kiss classic ink pads
Scallop border punch
Mat pack & piercing tool
1 3/8" circle punch for flowers
Piece of satin kiwi kiss double sided ribbon

The second card is probably one of my fav's. It was really pretty simple, just a tad time consuming since 6 people had to color in the main image, huff (blow only your breath on the image to re-wet the ink), and then stamp. It was fun, however. Everyone thought it was funny to say that they were "huffing" at a party. Haha.
Card 2 Recipe:
5 1/2" x 4 1/4" baja breeze cardstock
2 1/2" x 3" whisper white cardstock
2 3/4" x 3 1/4" pink pirouette cardstock
3- 1 3/8" circles of pink pirouette cardstock
3- 1 1/4" circles of whisper white cardstock
Riding hood red tafetta ribbon
2 pretty in pink brads
Mat pack & piercing tool
Pretty in pink & real red markers
Baja breeze classic ink & blender pen
Riding hood red classic ink
Season of Joy stamp set

Card 3 was super simple. I used the newest set I have, Say it With Scallops & a small piece of Urban Garden Designer series paper to make a sweet 4x4 kraft base card. I added a piece of Night of Navy ribbon to complete the look. I stamped the image in Baja Breeze. I punched the image out with my newest punch, the scallop square!

I should be back later with another post... I completed Kristina's last challenge, and it's Wednesday again so she should have another one posted!! Keep an eye out! :)

Finish Line

I'm in the home stretch of making my Christmas cards. I'm soo excited to mail them out to friends and family this year! If you'd like a card, please e-mail me with your address and I'll add you to my list!

I've had a great time making my cards this year and as the end of 2007 nears, I can't help but think of all the fun I've had being creative. I've learned lots of new techniques and I feel like I've really grown into being a much more creative person overall. I'm not afraid to try new things, get messy with glitter, and "ruin" paper!! It does have two sides, folks! :) I look forward to learning much more in 2008 and being able to share all that I learn with all of you!

I guess it's offical!!

I've created my own blog!

I've been contemplating it for some time now. The whole idea behind Livejournal.com was to blog as well. I wanted a place where I could write about family, friends, and showcase all my stampin' stuff!

I signed up to become a Stampin' Up! demonstrator in August, and have truly loved every minute of it. This past week we received a FREE stamp set from the CEO. It's so fun getting FREE stuff for the people you "work" for!

I'm still busy working full time and going to school full time. I never realized how busy I was until the holidays began to roll around.

Celebrated Thanksgiving with both our families last night. It was a nice time... I was too sick to eat much, however.

Today, Kev went and stood in line for over 5 hours to get the TV he's had his eye on for several months. It was a really good deal and it does look great in the living room!!

Maddie is still my sweet baby girl. She is growing up so fast I can hardly stand it. I just love her to death! I never thought a pet could affect me the way she does, but I think about her all the time and miss her when I have to be away from her!

I'm off to make some more holiday cards now... until later!
