Chair anyone?

This card was part of the Tecnique Lovers Challenge at Splitcoast. It's called Faux Cloisonne' and you are suppose to find images in a magazine of flowers, etc. then, emboss in gold around those images, cut out and create a card. I've seen some really awesome pieces of work!!

I took an hour yesterday to go through 4 magazines from work and found lots of great images to use. This particular card comes from an ad for a chair!! I loved the stripes and I thought that it was adorable even though it doesn't exactly satisfy the challenge requirements. I also embossed several other pages to use for later dates.

I had alot of fun with it, and here is another card I made with it by CASEing some work by Mary @ Stampin' Pretty.

You can see her blog by clicking the link on the left. I used a potted flower image for this one from "Better Homes & Garden".

Enjoy!

Stampin' Fanatic Challenge Week #1

Hello Ladies...

For those of you who made it to the New Catalog Party, you already know about this challenge. For anyone who didn't, please feel free to join us well!!

The Stampin' Fanatic Challenge is a weekly challenge to get your creative energy flowing!

The idea is to take on the challenge, make a card/scrapbook page(or two or three!), take a photo, and e-mail it to me! Each week I'll post a new and different challenge. As the weeks go on, they will get more "difficult" in an effort to stretch your horizons!

It's really meant to be fun, and to get you to try new things!

You can "compete" each week, only once per month, or any combination of weeks as you see fit. If you compete ONCE in ANY month then you are entered for a drawing to receive FREE products, handmade cards, etc. I will post a sample of each weeks' challenge here and also upload your photos at the end of the week!

*****************************************

Here is your first challenge... have fun!!

Make a card/scrapbook page with only ONE layer. You can use embellishments as you see fit.

Check back later for my sample!

Time Well Spent Swap

I received my swap cards this week... & one special card gave me some fabulous inspiration for Christmas in July.

I plan to organize a whole weekend full of card making, gift card holders, bows, tags, gift bags, and more. All the things you'll need to wrap, dress, and mail for Christmas!

The reason beyond doing it in July is 1)time... close to the holidays everyone gets so busy. Getting it done early will not only guarentee that it gets done, but it will give you so much MORE time doing other things come December!! & 2) Because our next catalog appears in July. This means LOTS of new items, all the stuff you'll need for Christmas card making supplies, etc.

Stay tuned for more details as July gets closer... be sure to keep this in mind!! :)

Without further ado... Here is the gift card holder I received from the sawp!! The person who made it enclosed a 2oo8 calendar instead of a card!

Time Well Spent

As a demonstrator for Stampin' Up! we receive a lot of great perks. Last month, everyone received a FREE stamp set from the upcoming 2008 Spring/Summer Collection. It's a Level 3 Hostess set. I just adore it! It's really versitile, whimsical, and fun!

Here are some pics of what I've created with it so far!

I'll add more this week as I am doing a card swap with some people through my upline, Beth.
I really love the set, and the sentiments especially- "Time spent with friends is time well spent" & "Too much of a good thing is a good thing"!

How cute! I can't wait to share them with you guys and send them to my friends! :)
